Week 4 Thoughts

Week 4 is here and we're almost a quarter of the way through the NFL regular season. Unbelievable! How are your season-long leagues doing? I know one of mine took a big hit this week with the announcement of Steven Jackson's injury and a few others are awaiting news about Winslow's injury. Keep in mind that if you're a Jackson (or Jones-Drew or Larry Johnson or any of the other underachivers) owner, you can always check out a week-long league at InstantFantasySports.com to draft a new team. Onto some thoughts about the games this weekend...

- If you can get your hands on Tom Brady this week, we recommend it. Ok, this one's not going out on a limb too far.

- Another one that shouldn't shock anyone: Brian Westbrook should have a big game. I just don't have faith in the Giants defense to stop anyone.

- Don't sleep on Marion Barber this week. He got the lion's share of the carries last week and the Cowboys are likely to blow out the Rams in Dallas on Sunday. You know what that means: they will be running the ball a whole lot in the second half.

- Ronnie Brown looked great last week, but I advise caution when considering him. He's been such a disappointment for a while now. Personally I want to see more than one big game before I rely on him.

- Another guy not to go nuts on this week is Kevin Curtis. Yes, I saw the numbers he put up a few days ago. Yes, he may turn out to be the #1 passing option for the Eagles. But I don't think Reggie Brown can continue his disappearing act. As with Brown above, let Curtis show you consistent performance for a few weeks before you consider him.

- The regular top WRs (TO, Randy Moss, both Cincy guys, both Indy guys, Steve Smith) are all good picks this week. In deeper leagues, don't forget about the Jets combo of Coles and Cotchery. Either or both could put up a big game against the Bills.

If you think any of this is brilliant or ridiculous, I'd love to discuss it with you at the new Instant Fantasy Sports Forum hosted by our friends at FantasyFanatics.com. Join me over there and let me know what you think of my picks, or ask a question about the site.
